Georgia Koltsida
Pediatric pulmonologist with official training in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Pulmonology respectively
Georgia Koltsida is a pediatric pulmonologist with official training in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Pulmonology respectively, in the United States of America. Ms Koltsida was born and raised in Athens. She is a graduate of the Medical School of the University of Crete with grade “Very Good”. She fulfilled her service as a rural doctor in the island of Zakynthos and afterwards she participated in the clinical research in the setting of her PhD in the First Department of Pediatrics in the University of Athens. After successfully completing the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), she moved to the United States of America in 2011, where she completed her residency in General Pediatrics at Maimonides Medical Center in New York. She participated successfully in the Examination of American Board of Pediatrics and was awarded the title of the American Board Certified Pediatrician in 2015.
Subsequently, she completed the subspecialty of Pediatric Pulmonology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia , in Pennsylvania and at the same time she participated under scholarship in the Master in Epidemiology and Biostatistics of the University of Pennsylvania. As part of her education, she cared for a plethora of common, but also rare and complicated pediatric pulmonary cases. In addition, she participated in the Airways Disease Program and performed a significant number of bronchoscopy procedures. One of her special interests of was and still is, the care of children with neuromuscular diseases. Her subspecialty training involved also the field of Sleep Medicine and thus, she worked at the side of Dr. Carole Marcus. Following the completion of her training , she participated successfully in the Subspecialty Examination of American Board of Pediatrics and was awarded the title of the American Board Certified Pediatric Pulmonologist in 2018.
She returned to Greece in 2017 and successfully completed the process of accreditation of the specialty of General Pediatrics in Greece, including the exams of Pediatrics as well. She worked as an academic fellow at Aghia Sofia Children’s Hospital, 1st University Department from 2019-2025 until May 2025 where she was elected Assistant Professor in Pediatrics – Pediatric Pulmonology in 2nd Pediatric Department of University of Athens. She has participated as a speaker in several international conferences, mainly in the USA, as well as in England and in Greece.
