Efrossini Briassouli is a paediatrician and Consultant Paediatrician (A grade) at the 2nd Department of Paediatrics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, at “P. & A. Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital in Athens. Her main clinical focus is Paediatric Infectious Diseases and Clinical Immunology / Primary Immunodeficiencies.

She graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and obtained her PhD from the same Medical School in 2016. She completed her paediatric training at the 1st Department of Paediatrics, “Agia Sofia” Children’s Hospital, in Athens. She then pursued subspecialty training in Paediatric Infectious Diseases and Immunology as a Clinical Fellow at Bristol University Hospitals, St George’s University Hospital in London, and the John Radcliffe Hospital – Oxford University Hospitals in the United Kingdom.

She has previously served as a Locum Consultant Paediatrician at “Agia Sofia” Children’s Hospital, caring for children with severe infections and sepsis, periodic fever and autoinflammatory syndromes (including PFAPA), hyperferritinaemia / macrophage activation syndrome, and monogenic primary immunodeficiencies. She is actively involved in research and international collaborations in these fields, with publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international conferences.
