Antonios Marmarinos is a Molecular Biologist and has been working as an academic colleague at the 2nd Pediatric Clinic of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) for the past 12 years. He is actively involved in research and educational programs and also serves as the coordinator of undergraduate student education.

He holds a PhD from NKUA (2013), a Master’s degree in Molecular Biology from Swansea University in Wales (2003), and a Bachelor’s degree in Hydrobiology and Environmental Science from the University of St Andrews in Scotland (2001). His scientific work is marked by consistency and ongoing development, and he has participated in major European Union research projects, such as the DIAMONDS and PERFORM programs under Horizon 2020, which focus on molecular signatures and personalized management of febrile illnesses.

He has published more than 90 articles in reputable peer-reviewed international journals, with a total Impact Factor of 340.3 and an h-index of 22, while recording over 1,300 citations. He has participated in numerous conferences in Greece and abroad, presenting original research data.

His main scientific interests include:

  • Molecular diagnostics in pediatric leukemia
  • Study of non-coding RNAs
  • Biomarker analysis in chronic pediatric diseases
  • Research on fat-soluble and water-soluble vitamins.
